Two opinions that I had noticed in Southan’s text are breaks are selfish, and that even though you enjoy something that does not mean you should pursue it. In Southan’s text the reader notices a theme of Southan informing the reader that taking a break is selfish. He believes this is true due to the fact that there are many starving children in the world, and one should not take a break until all the good one can accomplish is complete. In a sense I agree with Southan. I believe that if someone can achieve something worthwhile and beneficial to others that they should feel a sense of guilt, and not be able to enjoy a leisure activity, if they choose to neglect their opportunity to benefit others. One should only be able to have time to oneself when all the good, and all the work they need to complete is accomplished. Another opinon Southan expresses in the text is that, “… the thing you most enjoy isn’t the most moral thing to do” (Southan). Here Southan expresses that not always your dreams or hobbies align with what is right, or considered beneficial to other people. For example, one might want to pursue acting, but this does not necessarily benefit other people in a sense that they can receive food, nor shelter.  The actor or actress can provide money to help support others, but at the end of the day they are not actively trying to help others. Southan would argue that this career path is not morally justified.
