Through appraising and synthesizing a realization that two studies did not provide any statistically significant data occurred. This would thus, cause an issue in the final paper we are currently writing as only one study provided statistically significant data. Due to this finding I believe that there is no concrete way to prevent catheter associated urinary tract infections. That further research is required, determination in a universal policy which should be a guideline but should be adjusted to certain circumstances. This appraisal and synthesis truly helped me gain a better understanding as to how to determine if data is relevant and what to gather from said data. As two studies we believed would be beneficial for our final paper however, with no significant data are not entirely beneficial.
In regard to teamwork and collaboration for this appraisal and synthesis, we had met multiple times or communicated in various ways to ensure everyone completed the assignment to a high standard. Due to this, we were able to work as a collaborative whole to determine where mistakes have occurred and hold everyone accountable. We discussed sections at length and topics which allowed us to achieve consensus. When one individual was in disagreement or posed an idea they would thus provide an explanation to better our understanding in regard to their rationale.
