Preparation for Licensure (ATI Med-Surg CAT)

During this ATI Med-Surg CAT, I have learned that a quiet environment is essential, and to take my time on these practice questions. Although there is an emphasis upon answering questions quickly upon taking the NCLEX, there is also high importance on reading keywords and all the potential answers. I will apply this to future practice exams, ensuring that my attention is fully drawn to the questions and the potential answers. From this, I know this may require me to stay on campus to ensure I will not have loud noises distracting me due to the current renovations occurring at home. I will also need to pace myself rather than rushing myself. In regard to my SMART goals which I have developed for myself post-graduation in preparation for the NCLEX, I hope to carry this forward into these practice tests.

Although previously discussed I could improve by taking more time, I answered at a pace that was quite well for the recommended time required. Another area that went well was while reviewing the questions I was either able to acknowledge that the correct answer was one I did not read, I was in between (but after rereading the question recognized a keyword I misread), or entirely misread the question and understood the answer after rereading the question. I know recognize allowing myself more time would have resulted in a higher score.
